What type of wax does The Witchy Wax Co. use?
The Witchy Wax Co. utilizes natural soy wax to produce candles. In order to color the candles, The Witchy Wax Co. utilizes a small amount of paraffin dye.
Why does The Witchy Wax Co. use soy wax?
Soy wax is a “cleaner” wax when compared to paraffin wax, in the sense that soy wax does not release carcinogens into the air. Soy wax is also derived from natural vegetables. As opposed to paraffin wax which is derived from refined gasoline byproduct. Soy wax is also water-soluble making for an easy clean up! Soy wax is also 100% biodegradable.
Are the candles sold by The Witchy Wax Co. homemade and hand-poured?
Yes! Every candle sold by The Witchy Wax Co. is handmade and hand-poured by the owner Raeven Drayton.
What type of wicks are utilized by The Witchy Wax Co.?
Wooden wicks! But we do offer cotton wicks, just email thewitchywaxco@gmail.com to request them!
Why are the candles made by The Witchy Wax Co. black?
The candles made by The Witchy Wax Co. are black for magickal purposes. In candle magick, black candles are utilized to banish negative energies and infuse protective energies. The Witchy Wax Co. offers white candles per the request of the customer, which will include the same magickal properties of the black candle. This is because in candle magick, white candles can be utilized for any purpose. Email thewitchywaxco@gmail.com to request a white candle!
Can I repurpose my candle jar from The Witchy Wax Co.?
Yes! In order to melt any remaining wax in the container, place water in a pot large enough to fit the candle container (approximately 1/4 filled). Bring that water to a simmer (low boil; small bubbles) and place your container in the water until the wax becomes liquid. You can use cotton balls to remove the liquid wax from the container or pour the liquid wax into garbage. Remove the wick and then wash clean with soap + water! DO NOT PLACE IN MICROWAVE PRIOR TO WICK REMOVAL, THE BASE OF THE WICK IS METAL.
